ZRS X-Ray: Construction Organizational Assessment

Interview-based review of corporate culture, management and operations with the goal of driving operational excellence

Overview

Zurich Resilience Solutions’ (ZRS) X-Ray: Construction Organizational Assessment is an interview-based assessment tool designed to evaluate areas of corporate culture, management, and communication to identify gaps between management expectations and field perceptions and offers practical solutions that help enable smoother construction project execution.

The Assessment helps establish a corporate baseline to better identify obstacles impacting construction project operational efficiency. The interviews examine management practices, corporate culture, risk hazard analysis and more. Subsequent interviews are conducted with project management, supervisory teams and craft levels within the organization to identify any gaps or conflicts that could lead to construction project disruption, loss or unforeseen risks.

Upon completing the interviews, ZRS Risk Engineers compile and analyze the results, comparing the corporate baseline and field input. This analysis helps develop a detailed action plan aimed at mitigating identified issues. The action plan serves as a roadmap to improve construction operations and drive consistency across the organization.

The project score sheet, which Risk Engineers use to capture these results, tabulates and summarizes scores from various organizational levels. These scores indicate how well the responses align with the baseline expectations.

While a perfect match is not anticipated, the scores provide valuable insights into areas for improvement. Most companies typically score between 70% and 80%, highlighting opportunities for better alignment with defined expectations. The ZRS X-Ray: Construction Organizational Assessment serves as a benchmark to help organizations follow their internal standards more closely and strive for improved project outcomes.

The Assessment is ideal for companies integrating new acquisitions. It also helps companies maintain operational excellence as they grow their business in new markets and new project types.
